Implied Logic was incorporated as an independent limited company in April 2010 as
a vehicle to spin-out the business unit responsible for the STEM business modelling
software for networks from its former owner, Analysys Mason Limited. Robin Bailey,
Managing Director of Implied Logic (informally known as ‘Mr STEM’), negotiated the transaction, which was completed
on 18 June 2010, and brings with him into the new business critical continuity based
on 21 years of experience with the software, including the last ten years with full
commercial responsibility for the product as Head of Decision Systems Group at Analysys
Mason.
Based on that evolution, we can cite an extensive track record for the software,
now known as the STEM business modelling software for industry, and draw on a wealth
of personal experience advising service-provider and vendor clients, as well as
a network of skilled practitioners. In fact the principal motivation for the separation
from Analysys Mason was to make the software a more attractive proposition for other
consultants, and thereby to provide a wider choice of consulting partners for end
users.
Set-up activities
In its first year of trading and transition from Analysys Mason, Implied Logic:
- established its business identity, processes and core server infrastructure, while
- developing and sustaining client relationships through the transition,
- building a new support team and network of expert practitioners, and
- effecting a totally revamped build process for the STEM software platform.
The change of company name and ownership has not stopped Implied Logic attracting
new clients, nor satisfying the sometimes complex requirements of international
procurement. High levels of customer satisfaction and confidence have been maintained
through the transition to being an independent company thanks to our continuing
and first-class support services which arise in turn from the calibre and attitude
of our core team. The company expects to grow the support function in proportion
to this expanding client base.
Advice to former STEM clients of Analysys Mason
For existing STEM customers, the licence relationship automatically rests with Implied
Logic as new owner of the STEM intellectual property, but current support agreements
(with Analysys Mason) will be serviced by Implied Logic via a back-to-back provision
of the sale agreement. Implied Logic will then offer a replacement support agreement
on equivalent terms at the time of the next renewal or licence extension. We now have
a wider network of support resources, and our clients’ evolving requirements for
the STEM software are central to our future direction and priorities.
The original Analysys Mason branded software continued to work in the short term,
but Implied Logic issued its own
STEM 7.2c replacement software
in January 2011 which was a mandatory update for all current
soft-licence users. The legacy soft-licensing server at Analysys Mason was switched
off in April 2011 (which immediately curtailed the useful life of the original,
Analysys Mason branded software).
